Hi, I'm Lauren Pifer, and I've been practicing counseling since 2021. I have a genuine love for people.
I received my Master of Science in Clinical / Counseling Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
I personally love my work as a therapist because I enjoy participating in meaningful conversations and offering genuine support and knowledge for your self-love and acceptance journey.
Research shows that the relationship between therapist and client is the biggest factor in making progress, even more than the techniques used. While having the right tools in our therapeutic toolbox is important, it’s the connection between us that matters most.
I tend to have a relaxed and comfortable approach to therapy and try to adapt to the client's needs. I encourage communication of your experience of what it's like being in therapy.
Outside of my time with clients, my life is filled with creativity and learning.
I love learning new things. I have two cats, and one of them can talk using communication buttons. His favorite words are "play", "pets", and "now". I'm an avid aquarium enthusiast, and I find myself observing my little aquatic friends throughout the day. I love watching Lord of the Rings and other tv / movies that I find inspiring, and I enjoy hanging out with my spouse and my friends. I love food, especially international foods. I enjoy spending time in nature and have a lifelong love for animals. I enjoy writing fiction and nonfiction and playing video games.
The people closest to me describe me as thoughtful, understanding, genuine, and insightful.

I specialize in trauma therapy, anxiety therapy, and EMDR, focusing on relational, developmental, and attachment-based trauma — the kinds of experiences that shape self-worth, identity, and your ability to feel grounded and connected in your life.
My work is depth-oriented and insight-driven, ideal for clients who are emotionally stable enough for reflective, relational trauma processing.
Because I provide non-crisis outpatient therapy, I may not be the best fit for individuals currently experiencing severe dissociation, psychosis, high-risk behaviors, or ongoing safety crises. Those situations often require a more intensive level of care than weekly outpatient therapy can provide.
